Abu Dhabi — Industry experts in the UAE have cautioned that the risks associated with climate change grow greater each year that Net Zero targets are delayed. The warning comes amid ongoing discussions about carbon reduction strategies and sustainability initiatives across energy-intensive sectors.
Experts emphasized that postponing action on Net Zero goals could increase environmental, economic, and social vulnerabilities, including higher greenhouse gas emissions, rising operational costs, and greater exposure to climate-related disasters. They called for accelerated adoption of clean technologies, renewable energy projects, and sustainable practices in both public and private sectors.
UAE authorities have been actively promoting sustainability initiatives, including investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency programs, and green finance. However, experts argue that urgent action is needed to meet global climate targets and secure long-term economic and environmental resilience.
