UAE: The UAE has approved a federal budget of Dh292.5 billion for the three-year period from 2027 to 2029, Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced on Monday, October 12.

The allocation represents an increase of 8.3 per cent compared with the previous three-year budget period. Sheikh Mohammed, who is also the Ruler of Dubai, said the government would continue prioritising education, healthcare, housing, social services, quality of life and the stability of citizens.

The federal budget for 2027 has been set at Dh90.1 billion.

UAE Federal Budget 2027: Key Allocations

The approved 2027 budget distributes funding across five main areas, including social development, government operations, investments, federal expenses and infrastructure.

  • Social development and pensions: Dh34.6 billion, accounting for 38.4 per cent of the budget.
  • Government affairs: Dh29.1 billion, representing 32.3 per cent.
  • Federal expenses: Dh17.8 billion, or 19.7 per cent.
  • Financial assets and investments: Dh5.6 billion, equivalent to 6.2 per cent.
  • Infrastructure and economic resources: Dh3 billion, accounting for 3.4 per cent.

The allocations reflect the federal government’s continued focus on social welfare, public services and the country’s long-term development priorities.

Government Priorities Remain Focused on Citizens

Sheikh Mohammed said the government’s priorities remain unchanged, with an emphasis on strengthening education and healthcare, providing housing and social services, improving quality of life and maintaining citizens’ stability.

The multi-year budget provides a financial framework for federal government spending from 2027 through 2029.

Dubai’s 2026–2028 Budget

Last year, Sheikh Mohammed announced Dubai’s largest budget cycle in the emirate’s history for 2026–2028.

That budget projected total expenditure of Dh302.7 billion and total revenue of Dh329.2 billion, with an operating surplus of 5 per cent.
