The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has confirmed that one Indian national was killed and two others were injured following an attack targeting King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

In a statement posted on X, the embassy said it was working to establish further details and contact the affected families.

“We are ascertaining further details and contacting the affected families. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of the deceased and we wish speedy recovery of the injured,” the embassy said.

Four People Killed in Separate Incidents

Authorities said three residents and one Saudi citizen were killed in two separate targeting incidents in the Eastern Province and Dammam on Wednesday, October 21.

According to the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), King Fahd International Airport was targeted on Wednesday evening, resulting in the deaths of an Indian resident and a Saudi citizen.

The attack also caused property damage, the extent of which is still being assessed, the authority said.

Eight People Injured in the Attacks

Eight people were injured in total, including one Saudi national, one Nepali national and two nationals each from India, Yemen and Bangladesh.

The injuries range from minor to critical, according to the report.

The Indian Embassy said it was contacting the affected families and coordinating efforts to obtain further information about the incident.

Dammam Airport Resumes Operations

GACA confirmed that operations at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam have resumed following the attack.

The incidents come amid an escalation of hostilities involving the Iran-backed Houthi group in neighbouring Yemen, with attacks on Saudi Arabia having intensified, according to the report.

Authorities said further updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
