The competition will recognise the best overall bike, most creative theme, best family costume and best group costume. Participants can decorate their bicycles, dress up in costumes, or combine both to enter.
Official event photographers will capture participants’ entries on the day.
Dubai Ride Returns on November 1
Presented by DP World, Dubai Ride will return for its sixth edition on Sunday, November 1, transforming Sheikh Zayed Road into a giant cycling track.
Thousands of cyclists are expected to ride past some of Dubai’s best-known landmarks, including the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera.
More than 40,000 cyclists participated in last year’s event, more than double the number recorded during its inaugural edition in 2020.
Dubai Ride is the opening flagship event of the 10th Dubai Fitness Challenge, which runs from October 31 to November 29. Launched in 2017 by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the initiative encourages residents and visitors to exercise for 30 minutes daily over 30 days.
Across its first nine editions, the challenge has attracted more than 16 million participants.
Two Routes for Different Riding Levels
The free community event will feature two main routes.
12km Sheikh Zayed Road Route: Recommended for more experienced cyclists, this route passes the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal and Burj Khalifa. Starting points include the Museum of the Future, Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay and Lower Financial Street.
4km Downtown Family Route: Designed for families and riders of all abilities, this flatter loop runs around Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa, making it suitable for young children.
Dubai Ride is not a timed race, and participants are required to observe the 25km/h speed limit.
Professional Speed Laps Yet to Be Confirmed
In previous editions, professional cyclists were given the opportunity to complete speed laps along Sheikh Zayed Road for an hour before the community ride began.
The segment was open to riders aged over 21 who could maintain an average speed of 30km/h on the 12km route between Dubai World Trade Centre and Safa Park and back. Participants had to leave the route by 6am.
However, it has not yet been confirmed whether the professional speed-lap segment will return for the 2026 edition.
Registration and Bib Collection
Participation in Dubai Ride is free, but online registration is mandatory for safety and security reasons. Participants can register through the official Dubai Fitness Challenge website at dubaifitnesschallenge.com.
Parents and legal guardians can register up to three children and must accept the required waiver on behalf of participants under 18.
After registering, participants must collect their bib numbers from the Dubai Municipality 30×30 Fitness Village at Zabeel Park. Bib and T-shirt collection is scheduled from October 28 to 31.
